I couldn't agree more with Reis. I have a 12 year old bosch that I used
to build a class-V unlimited baja bug with, each tubing fishmouth done
by hand--more than once the grease in the gears got hot enough to drool
out the spindle--and it keeps running, with tight bearings, a reliable
switch, and plenty of power. The dogs that keep it from spinning when
you swap disks are rounded now but they can be fixed. I expect another
dozen years or more. Cheap tools are cheap--home depot tools are cheap,
and so can be compared to habor freight. Good tools,like Bosch, are in
a different class. As someone said, and I say as an owner of both
classes, you need to ascertain how much you really need from a tool. If
it's a non critical asset, buy cheap and buy two. Otherwise, buy
quality.
