I have found my chopsaw to be indispensable......I use it mainly for cutting
tool steel, which, even in the unhardened state will foil a bandsaw readily.
Mine is a Bosch, which is not on the cheaper end. The HF saws will do a
wholly acceptable job, even if they(arguably) have a shorter life span.

my harbor freight chop saw does excellent, got it for cheap.
