Possible ideas:
2 teams compete to build stuff, like Junkyard wars.
Accent emergencies: Blacksmith diagnoses problems with architecture and adds blacksmithing to make the building better.
Pioneers: multiple teams with a potter, a carpenter and a blacksmith. They must build a civilization and trade with the other civilizations to make the most robust economy.
blacksmith boot-camp: several contestants have to learn how to blacksmith, make certain things, each one progressively harder, at the end, they have to sell their wares at a flea market.
Craftsman challenge: Have a blacksmith, a machinist and a carpenter all take on projects. They can use wood and steel to make their projects and they compete for the best answer to the problem.

It is I who formed the blacksmith,
who fans the flame into a fire and
fashions a weapon fit for it's work.
