Sparkey,
You should be able to build a gas forge out of mostly scrounged parts such
as old pipes and a freon tank for a small one or an old compressor tank for
a larger one. Also, if you want a really big one a hot water tank works
fine. The largest expense is kaowool, a regulator and a blower if you don't
mind the noise. A blown forge is easier to build and start using- not much
tuning involved. There are numerous sites with directions on gas forges.
Murphy has perfected the art-science of forge building and his work great,
especially if you have to do a demo where there is no electricity.
Just apply common sense and think safety- this endeavor is not really
dangerous but is unforgiving of carelessness, incapacity or neglect.
