Why aren't folks using propylene for steel welding? Does it require a new
set of tips or can acetylene tips be used in torches?
Propylene has more free carbon than any other fuel gas, but acetylene.
Unfortunately, even propylene simply does not have the amount of free carbon
available in acetylene, without which, you are not going to make satisfactory
oxy-fuel welds on steel.
