[TheForge] unusual injury

Earlier this week I had an unusual event.  I was going to pick up my hammer
and hit the tip of my index finger on the side of the anvil.  It was like
when you stub your toe on a chair leg, except it was a finger.  It took
several minutes for the throbing to to subside, and even after several days
the tip of my finger is still tender.

Looking back at it, it is interesting that this has never happened before,
given that I have picked up my hammer off the anvil thousands of times. I
can only figure that my attention must have been distracted at the instant I
reached for the hammer and I let my hand come in too low. It sure caught me
off guard.
