To All,
Being elbow deep in the use of metals in the medical field at this point in
my career, I would just like to say that there isn't anything that is actually
good for you in high enough doses.
About 10% of the general population has a sensitivity to nickel. Just about
all of the metallic implants used in this day and age except for pure titanium
and the platinum group metals have a lot of nickel in them. They make
arterial stents out of ~316 SS. The Euros have outlawed nickel in jewelry alloys
Work with good ventilation. Weld fumes are worse than any thing that comes
out of a fire.
Just remember that if you eat right, exercise, use sunscreen, take your
vitamins and antioxidants and stay away from environmental toxins, you will
eventually die of nothing.
