When we had our offices (Comp sci) in the EE building at CCNY, my
demented cohorts and I used to love blowing up capacitors. It all ended
one day when I just had to go over the line and connect a 60K mF
electrolytic can to the 660V lines in the office. I lowered it out the
window and we threw the lever. Short beat... KABOOM! You can still see
the divot taken out of the bricks. We were on the way down the stairs
to exit the building just as campus security was heading up. The
chairman tried to pretend he was upset about it, but George Ross had a
sense of humor. We skated. :) :) :) I'm sure that today we'd go to
prison as terrorists. Can't have no fun no mo'.
