if you use DMSO as a solvent, you will very definitely want to use
neoprene gloves. DMSO is a very powerful transdermal vehicle, meaning
that it absorbs into the skin at an incredibly fast rate, as in seconds,
and takes anything dissolved into it along for the ride. If you
dissolve poison, the poison will be in your system in a matter of
seconds. In this respect, it can be very dangerous stuff.

In the 1970s, London police seized "doom dots" in a drug raid. Turned
out that they were LSD dissolved in DMSO and saturated into some small
spherical objects (porous). The guys held them in their hands while
wondering what they were. Within a couple of minutes they found out and
had to be treated for very large doses of the hallucinogen. As it
turned out, doom dots were supposed to be held for about 10 to 15
seconds and then put away. The cops had been holding them for several
minutes.

I use DMSO to make certain herbal extracts such as calendula for open
wounds. It is very powerful and should not be taken lightly. It is
also good for arthritis. Arthritis was also the reason for the
invention of WD-40. It became a lubricant when its inventor could not
get it approved as an arthritis medicine.
