Actually having been involved in a battery explosion incident it is
not so cool, exciting but definitely not cool. A careless tech as
soldering a D cell size Lithium Thionel Chloride battery cell into a
stack and got one in the stack incorrectly. The rest of the stack
tried to charge that one , it protested this by shattering the
stainless steel battery can and proceeding to burn violently. It damn
near burned down the lab, luckily no one was hurt but it scared the
s**t out of every one in the lab at the time.
