	Might not have to use babbit, depending on what the bearing seat looks 
like.  An old acquaintance, Don Heliker (who must be 300 years old by 
now) replaced the babbit on his 50# Giant with bronze and they have been 
going strong for many years.

In any event, given the utility of such a gadget, I wouldn't let a 
putzed bearing get in the way of a good time.
