That sounds about right by hand. To me the welding is no problem with a hand 
hammer, it's the drawing out that takes time, and for that I'd rather have a 
power hammer. What do you guys think?

OTOH a press is good for that fancy picture-in-the-steel stuff and for powder 
work.
