[TheForge] press vs power hammer

Ralph is right, except for welding up pattern weld damascus billets.
Unless you use a really big hammer, a hammer generally moves more metal on
the top and bottom surfaces of the billet, and tends to enlarge internal
flaws and voids.
A hydraulic press moves more metal in the center of the billet and tends to
close up flaws in the billet.
The relatively long contact time, of the hydraulic dies to thin billets,
sucks heat rapidly and makes the process less efficient than using a power
hammer,
The hammer is also much more efficient for drawing billets.
