I have known several people over the years that have built them, 
including my favorite uncle who built reproductions of about every sort 
of gun.  ( He once found a dinasour skeleton while retrieving a 
canonball from a hill in Az desert)    About a year and a half ago there 
was a lady smith on theForge that was making a canon.  She was from 
Canada and went by Calamity Jane or something like that.   She had a 
website with pictures of her progress on the canon.  The last post I 
remember from her she was press fitting the liner in the canon and got 
stuck halfway.  Never heard how she sorted that out.
