Ok, fellas.  I learned something a few years ago from a granny lady.  She
told me that one of the sweetest things that had happened to her, was her
husband had given her some roses without notice, without warning, and for no
reason.

So, figuring things the way I did, and knowing that my wife knows EACH AND
EVERY TIME THAT I HAVE EVER GIVEN HER A FLOWER, AND CAN COUNT EACH AND EVERY
TIME ON ONE HAND, I figured to do a good deed.

I told the wife that a ham radio type friend was going to bring by a big
rack for me to fix, heavy one, and that she needed to help him get it out of
the back of the truck.  I would be at work<G>.  After a bit of griping, she
caved in (good girl), and said she would help.

Now, our driveway is 1700 feet of unimproved ruts.  The only people that
come down our driveway are meat salesmen, preachers, and teenyboppers trying
to find a quiet place.

So,,,, this flower truck came down the driveway.  She stood on the front
porch, shotgun in hand, and hollered to the fella "you are lost, go away."
You see, she would love to be a hermit, and doesn't like neighbors.

The fella hollered back, "I have a flower delivery for you."

She hollered back, "No you don't, you are lost. Go away."

He, "Is this xxxx Downs Road?"

She, "Yes, but you are lost."

He, "Are you Bird?"

She, "Yes, but you are lost."

He, "I have flowers for Bird at this address."

Well, at this point, she was somewhat interested, went inside, put down the
shotgun, went down two flights of stairs, out the Garage, to see who had
sent her flowers, and who had died.

When I got home, she was happy.

And then there was the time that I came home, there was steaks on the
plates, lit candles on the table, and she was wearing a dress.  She don't
wear a dress, ever, except for a marrying or a burying.  But that is another
story<G>.
