Jerry,
Lets hope that it doesn't come to surgery.
I'm kind of fighting the same thing. I helped my son-in-law hang sheet rock
a couple weeks ago and after pushing a screw gun for three days I could
hardly even brush my teeth. I rested it for a week and it seemed pretty
good until I split wood Saturday, and wow does that hurt. It doesn't bother
me when I hammer so I think I'll have to stick to blacksmithing.
Every now and then I try to hammer right handed and it goes ok while I'm
concentrating on it. But somehow before I realize it the hammer is back in
my left hand. I think if I had to, I could switch to save my wrist.

Folks,
After doing exercises, braces, not doing anything, taking cortisone
shoots, and bunches of other thing, Friday the doctor gave me a script for
pain pills said if I take them, the TV remote is the only tool I was to use
(he was right, WOW on the painkillers) and scheduled me for surgery on
March 15th. If my hand gets worse, he will do the surgery that day or the
next day on an emergency basis.
Jerry, know as Lefty :)
