Ralph,
I always have used strait argon with stainless. The mix I used was a
tri-mix with 90% helium the other 2 parts argon and CO2 for stainless Mig.
Only the one bottle cause it was real pricey and you had to wait for them to
mix it whereas my supplier stocks plenty of Ar. What is the steel mix? Is
the 75/25 Ar and CO2?
