Hi Ralph;
I got a refurbished 6"X9" one for $70 about 5 years ago and will never 
go back. Never had any trouble. Wacom/Intuit is the largest maker I 
think. Cost is  by the square inch...bigger is better but gets cost 
prohibitive quickly. I think they make  a smaller one for about $100 
new. Makes a mouse seem clunky and archaic....PF
