The Sorber Iron Collection being sold off soon...  Wasn't James Sorber, 
"THE" owner/ Author of the Sorber Collection a member on this list  4 or 5 
years back? 

I think I have been reading "stupid" posts on this "THE FORGE" list about 8 
or 9 years.  Sometimes I post something stupid myself and get my head 
chopped off... and when it grows back, I have a good laugh. 

Sometimes when a major list contributor / that helped some of  the rest of 
us hobby smiths... ("wanna be's or never wasses" ) drops off list, he / she 
is really missed.  When that happens, it doesn't appear to be from  off 
topic babble, or from hurt feelings: more often it seems that just that life 
threw them a curve that required more of their attention. 

When Ron Reil dropped off, and half a dozen helpful stalwarts that I can 
think of left, they were missed, at least by me, but life goes on.    I have 
been on and off a  dozen or two other group email lists that nolonger  fill 
a need big enough to be worth my time to be even a "lurker "
