[TheForge] Warped!

I have a couple of pieces of 2" x 4" stock that I lay on top of the
material, sandwiching the material between that and my steel welding
table. I clamp the whole works down and then weld. The heavy steel
gives me a good clamp and keeps everything really flat, and it also
acts as a heat sink so the heat doesn't run up the bar. Got the idea
from using that heat putty for welding sheet metal.
If the internal stress left by the cooling weld makes the whole frame
warp when you unclamp, you can stress-relieve the join after welding by
bringing it to just below critical and letting it cool while still
clamped.
Seems to work for me, and it's quick.
