[TheForge] mailbox

I've got a neighbor who's box has to be too close to the road so it got hit
with the plows too. His solution was to sink his post at an angle on the
other side of the ditch and use a long braced arm on a pivoting sleeve.
When the box gets hit, it swings away easily then returns to position by
gravity.

Seems to work for him.

Well, my mailbox took a hit again last night. This happens about once every
two months. I think it's a neighbor that I had a run in with. I wish I
could catch him but my house is 500' off the road and hidden from that area.

Mine gets whacked when they plow snow....

I want to sink a pole in the ground say 3'deep/fill it with cement. Then I
would like to fabricate one from stock...say 3/8"thick!! Ha...I am sure
it'll never happen, but it would be nice...
