My wife has two cousins whose combined total of six 30-40 yr old
children seem to think school is the panacea for not having to be
responsible to, or for anything. With few exceptions none have held a
job for much over a year or two. If anything in their sheltered lives
begins to show a sign of stress, including marriage, the first decision
is to complain and quit. The second decision is to go back to school.
Even worse, their retired or soon to be retired parents, continually
enable them by supplying living expenses, insurance, cars, food,
vacations and the pat on the back saying "its ok honey....". It just
drives me nuts., and I have a really hard time making nice at family
reunions.
I think having the availability of going back to school is a wonderful
thing...if it it done for the right reason. And that reason is having a
clear idea of what one wants to do and where one wants to go.
Geez, it felt good to say that. Arrrrgh!
