I had an 87 pound anvil that had a 5/8 inch hardy hole and a 3/8 inch
prichel. RR spikes worked as drop in bases for hardy tools.

As I recall the only identifying marking on the side was about a 2 inch
five point star. Was a sweet little anvil from a farm auction that was
encrusted with same kind of caked greasy grunge that one finds on an old
abused tractor engine block. The fella that was bidding against me quit
when it got over $60 as he said that was "too much for a 50 pound anvil".

Felt a lot heavier than 50 pounds to me. I was all grins when I got it
home, cleaned up and weighed it. When I got the grunge off, the anvil was
in virtually unabused /almost "unused" condition, square and true, with no
serious hammer or chissel dings.

for a 1 inch hardy but mine is smaller (about 1/2 inch). Thanks.
