Cheaper? who said cheaper? smaller, lighter, and better, yes.
I run an inverter power supply, a Miller 304CCCV machine, and it is 
light, small, extremely powerful, uses less input amperage, and does 
stick, lift arc tig, regular tig, and mig. It migs better than my old 
regency power supply, which is basically a millermatic 200. The bead is 
nicer, its cleaner, better penetration, and easier to run.
It tigs better than my syncrowave 250. Again, cleaner, better quality 
welds, easier.
Havent tried stick welding with it, but no reason to think it wouldnt 
do that very well too.

But it cost a lot of money. And the Dynasty, which is an AC/DC machine 
(mine only does DC tig) costs even more.
