Regarding the Sorber collection auction of May 14.

Details, when available, may be viewed at the Pook and Pook auction site:
_http://www.pookandpook.com/_ (http://www.pookandpook.com/) .

A catalogue will be available in the near future. The auction items are
being picked up from the Sorber home this week and next. They will be catalogued,
photographed, etc. Mr. Sorber is nearing his 88th birthday and although in
excellent health, can no longer do justice to maintaining and displaying the
collection. It is the way of many collections. Mr. Sorber has pursued many
avenues in an effort to maintain the collection in its entirety but there is
little interest from any private or public institutions.

There are many wonderful pieces in the collection that well represent the
highest level of blacksmithing achievement, technique and style of the 17th,
18th and 19th centuries. I hope everyone of you might be able to have a piece or
 two from the collection.
