Philip,
I'll bite.  My degree is from the Dept of Metals and Ceramic Engineering.  I 
had to take courses along with the pot makers.  That is pot makers not 
growers.  The dearly missed TP always said that the only thing that ceramic engineers 
were good for was to make (chamber) pots.
