I attached a rope to the trailer hitch on my truck and tightened the slack
as a safeguard to keep the tree from hitting my house. It was a good thing;
the tree was going straight for the house when the truck/rope turned it
around. Should have had a longer rope though. I loved that truck.

Last time I was cutting trees I had a maple of about 16" caliper

fell 180* opposite to the way I notched it to fall. It was pretty
weird, but taking out the neighbors phone and electric lines sucked.
Luckily, the utility repair guys were way cool and attributed the break
to "unknown causes". Never had that happen before. Still can't figure
what I did wrong.
