[TheForge] Cool kinematic web site

I don't quite follow the S24 linkage. I'm not sure what is stationary
and what mobile. This looks rather like an "inversion" of a linkage
commonly referred to at the "Watt SLM," but I'm not sure of that. In
that linkage, two short arms pivot on bearings mounted at different
vertical levels to a frame. The ends of each are connected to opposite
ends of a long arm. The centerpoint of the long arm describes a
straight line for a portion of the angular motion of each short arm.

Yep, that's the one I was thinking of too.
S5 (Evans) looks most like the Grasshopper as far as I've looked.
The S24 Watt linkage is basically the same thing but linked(?) on both
sides
of the swingarm center pivots. I don't know how that improved the
action but
evidently Watt thought so. <grin>

Wrought iron is.
