I was also  tubing with end caps...  but  thinking something different like 
those 8 inch diameter irrigation pipe, but you would likely need to go to 
texas or oklahoma to find them. 

How about extending the roof line on one side of your shop. or by dropping 
down half a foot and making a stub roof going out  2 feet or so.  Then make 
an enclosed  "hang on" frame along the outside wall for the 20 feet plus 
that you need.  You could put hinge  access from the side and end.  It might 
make a nice home for mud dauber kinds of wasps.. <grins>
