[TheForge] OT: Bean disposal problems

We're trying to introduce our 14 year old daughter to cooking. She is
supposed to cook one night a week. So far we've had a lot of chili.

Last weekend she went ballistic (for a variety of reasons), and most of
a pot of chili sat on the stove all week, as she refused to clean it up.
Penalties finally brought her around, and she took care of it.

As some may know, chickens excel at eating *anything* with no ill
consequences. It doesn't seem to matter how awful the thing from the
back of the refrigerator is, chickens will not only eat it, but thrive.
The obvious thing to do was to dump the chili where the chickens could
get at it.

It's been pretty nice this fall, but it is close enough to serious snow
that the chickens have all been moved into the barn. So Jodi goes out
this morning (bad, funny smelling chili dumped yesterday evening) to do
chores. She reported an amazing stench. All the barn doors stood open
today. All of the chili was gone.

Thank heavens my daughter used a mild flavored bean (kidney). I shudder
to think what pinto beans would have been like.

Steve
