[TheForge] Upside-down hydraulic press -- comments?

Do you plan on doing anything in particular with it? For example, making
Damascus?

I don't really know anything about presses, but it seems a little
narrow... All the presses I've seen are wider. Is that so it fits the
scrap you have?

It seems like the flange from the I-beam will cause problems when you
work on the diagonal. That is, if it's only six inches wide, the four
inch flange will start to interfere pretty quickly.

Just my $0.02...

Greetings all --

I'm in the head-scratching stage on building a press and want to pump
any
and all for comments (before I make bigger mistakes than I usually do).

I've posted the plans at:

http:\\www.ironflower.com\plans\press.htm

Please tell me what you think.

Steve (FABA editor - among other things) Bloom
