Chris,
You probabally can.  It might be easier to use a manifold of 1/8" sheet 
metal to hold the brick and deliver gas to it.

Hi folks,
     I am building a new forge and was curious about ribbon burners.  Could 
one be made out of a firebrick with holes drilled into it. with a feed pipe 
inside it?
