Cascade coil makes the classic coil spring interlocking style of 
fireplace screen.
They make it in all kinds of different metals, sizes of wire, and sizes 
of weave. It hangs like a curtain. You sometimes see this in big 
commercial fireplaces.
It is not cheap, but as far as I know you cant get it anywhere else.

Mcnichols is the place for any wire mesh, expanded metal, or perforated 
metal, and they will cut to size and ship it to you.
