I think you covered about all the questions I had or heard. <grin>

At this stage suction will be provided by a 3" intake forge blower I'll
never need to power a fire.

Suction is through the floor sockets which are capped with floor level caps
when not sucking or jigging. The sockets are connected under the floor via
ABS pipe. I'd rather use steel but couldn't afford it.

To visualize the cutting/welding table; come, imagine along with me. The bar
grate will sit on a hopper shaped sheet metal pan. The legs of the table
will be 2" sq tubing that opens into the pan and sockets into the floor
gazinta suckers.

The exhaust system isn't a dust comp but if I build or buy a separator it'll
provide the suction. Maybe enough anyway.

When it does get filled with crud, water, etc. I'll turn on the blower and
starting at the farthest point fish a length of semi rigid plastic tubing
hooked to the air compressor down it. If it takes extreme cleaning I'll use
a water hose.

I believe the old forge blower will provide enough draw to suck even water
out of the system, if not I'll use the wet/dry vac.

This system won't be much good for clearing a smoky shop, the idea is to
keep smoke out of the air in the first place. I'll also have a "normal"
exhaust fan.
