[TheForge] sound proofing a shop

Block walls are great for soundproofing and don't burn, a plus.
Expensive though. A friend of mine built a house of 2' logs facnig
radially (so you see the endgrain from inside) with 6" of mortar on
each end and blow-in insulation in between. Sound and heat insulation
is all about dead air. That house was silent inside, not to mention
strong as a bull and warm in the winter, cool in summer. Pain in the
arse to build, though.
