It sounded to me like he was talking about threaded coil inserts such as the
following.  But I may be wrong.

 I have some lifting nuts for standing up wall slabs that are  poured flat
on  the floor slab. They are a piece of wound wire with 4 legs I also have
the  special bolts that go with them. I am planning on putting them in  my
floor,  the only exposure is a 3/4 in hole that could be filled with a bolt.
The  bolt could be removed to install a hook or shackle  Rowland of
Roseburg, OR 97470  10 miles west to the nearest Red Light,  100 miles east
to the first Red Light that way
