Justin: A Nazel 4B is HUGE. A spring shop near my place has one, and it is
a two-piece unit that stands about 10' high and sits on a 10'x10'x15 deep
reinforced concrete cube. I don't know what the floor weight is, but moving
it is something you dont want to do more than once. Grant

Subject: [TheForge] Nazel 4b

Ok, so I've been on every equipment list in the world looking for a
power hammer and finally a 4b comes up. It's out of a caterpillar
factory somewhere in the rustbelt, it's as is, where is, not running,
"was in service" and they want 10 bills. Seems a lot under the
circumstances. My questions are these: 1. can you look at one of these
monsters and see things that are likely to be wrong, or are the things
that will eat you alive fixing them be hidden? 2. Is a 4b too bloody
big for a guy doing your standard artist-blacksmith stuff (like, not
Ries-sized?)?

I know there's a couple of the 3b owners out there. Thoughts? I'm
tempted to offer like 2500 on spec....

Thanks,

JRF
