Ah, well, then this would be a good time to get a coffee, go out for a
smoke, wash the dog or apply the latest Windows patches.  I'm not
going to do it until I discover (as I eventually will) that the piece
of 1/4" plate with its socket sticking up is a real PITA.  And until I
have gotten acquainted with the new vise and come to love it a least a
little.


In the meantime, other advice on making a ca 4x4 socket in an existing
concrete floor, engineering vertical Gazintas(tm) and related topics
is welcome for future reference.
