Brings to mind an old tale from the Vietnam era: (And maybe every war
era after WW2) :)
Seems this older Colonel was sailing with his unit on a ship heading to
a deployment.
He remarked to a young sailor that the ship reminded him of the ship
he'd sailed in on the way to Europe during WW2.
"Yep," He said, "We called her the Shattered Cherry, but her real name
was the Chateau Thierry. Wonder what happened to that old rustbucket.
We were afraid all the way across that she'd come apart and drown us
before the Germans got a chance to shoot at us."
The young sailor gulped and replied: "Sir, this _is_ the Chateau
Thierry!"
