I've never tried lavender oil. I've used cooling, either water or ice, then
aloe.

The pine tar and turpentine remedies though lead me to consider another long
time remedy a worth a try. I've been using "Cut Heal" (found at livestock
suppliers, feed and seed, etc.) for cuts since Deb introduced me to it. It's
primarily turpentine, turpentine oil and pine tar. Smells just like
turpentine and heals up wounds very quickly.

I'll give it a try next time I get burned.
