I think you need to use something like rope or leather if the bell
needs to vibrate freely in the "xy" plane, as it were. The S hook
may work if it makes a point contact with the bell, so a round cross
section might be best, but if the bell needs to move in a motion
ALONG the xy plane in order to sing, then I doubt the hook will
work. Try brass or copper wire, VERY fine gage, multiple strands.

Oooo, wait, even better... go to a craft store and ger Beadalon
wire. It is a VERY fine multi-stranded STAINLESS STEEL wire for
stringing beads. I made Seshat several necklaces recently from
beads a guy I "know" got from Tiffany's as an overstock deal.
Beadalon is plastic coated. The spool I'm staring at as I type
is the cruder stuff at .018" diameter and 7 strands. They also
have the same diameter with *49* strands, and it is very flexible
but a lot more costly. Just imagine how fine each strand is.

I'll bet you dollars to donuts that this stuff will work perfectly.
The 7 strand should be just what you need. $2.99 vis a vis something
like $15 for the superfine stuff. Bet it will do just what you need
	it to do.

	Best wishes.
