hi
i have a 50 kg sayha(tom clark). i would buy another one. when he comes
up w/a larger hammer i'll seriously consider buying it. the hammer has
held up well w/ a good amount of hard work. i had to pour a heavier
slab under the hammer (n.or coast) as sand tends to liquify w/vibration
and my 6" slab was beginning to show cracks. tom clark has been really
good about answering questions of mantainence and has upgraded the
hammer w/newer changes when he has been in the nw...free. he delivered
it and set it up and spent about 1+ hrs showing me the basics. it was
plug and play. all electrical components were installed by tom at his
shop. (the hammers come to him w/o motors/wiring. ) i also took his 4
day class in potosi,mo. on flat die forging taught by bill bastas and
bob patrick.
i don't think the chinese hammers are even remotely comparable. the
anyangs and strikers that i've seen leaked oil profusely and seemed to
require constant maintainence and fiddling . i just wanted a hammer that
worked well when i plugged it in, and someone to call when i had
questions. cost was 8k + 300 for delivery. came w/flat and combo drawing
dies.
