Seriously- the cost difference between Starrett and cheezy chinese junk 
is not that much when you consider you will have the tool for your 
entire life.
I have a Starrett combination square set I bought in about 1976- I 
still use it every day. Yes, even then it was expensive, but I have 
thrown away 3 or 4 worn out imports, and even hardware store Stanley 
squares in that amount of time.
Plus Starrett tools are so beautifully made that I just enjoy having em.
