Protect me from office clerks!

Just tried to get a quote on some steel stock.  The ONLY way this woman was
gonna give me ANY sort of idea what the steel stock would cost was if I gave
her an EXACT list of what I wanted and whether it would be cut or delivered.
I don't KNOW how much I'll order.  That depends upon price, minimum order,
etc.!  Round and round!

I give up!  I'll deal with someone else.  I never had this trouble before.
Just thought I'd try the local business.  Forget it!  I'll have it delivered
from halfway across the state rather than deal with this bullshit!

WHY don't steel companies just creat websites from which we can assemble an
order.  No clerk to deal with.
