Herbert J. Dyer (in How to Work Sheet Metal) refers to "jennies and
wiring machines" and distinguishes them from "beading and swaging
machines".
I have three of these things: a jenny for turning a burr, a similar
machine for setting in the sheet metal on a wired edge and one
(apparently?) for forming a bead to receive wire. At one point I got
pretty good (after a lot of trial and error) with the jenny but just
the other day I was cleaning these machine up and doing little repairs
to them that I'd been putting off your a long time (There are still
pockets of chaos after moving to a new shop) and tried to burr up a
random piece of metal. Didn't go well. I guess you have to keep in
practice. The last couple of things if did with sheet metal I burred
by hand -- hadn't gotten around to cleaning up the machines yet.
