It must still being made, because the site I listed shows 2004 episodes
I think, the Tinsmith being one of them. I suspect that they air what
brings in pledges or corporate sponsorship. Shop junkies like those on
this list and woodworkers as well I think have a tendency to put most of
their money into new tools, rather than pledging to PBS. Yankee, This
Old House and Hometime directly or indirectly sell a lot of product, so
the coporate sponsorship is there and sufficient. Yankee brings a lot
of people into local woodwrking shops, so is heavily sponsered by them
locally, as well as the tool manufacturers nationally. Hometime and
This Old House long ago stopped being about teaching homeowners to do
anything other than call a contractor, but they do sell a lot of product
as well. Poor Roy doesn't have any corporate tie in at all maybe
antique and junkshop dealers of america? There was a PBS series for a
while available in a few venues that featured blacksmithing, Forge And
Anvil was the name. It is still available on video, but no longer aired
or taped to my knowledge.
