I have also made a torch stand with a gas saver and foot
pedal to pivot the torch holder past the pilot and and turn
on the gas saver. It was based on one that Paul Mornault
built and used when he was the demonstrator at an NEB meet in
Maine.

If and when I make another, I would use a tripod stand with
wheels on 2 legs for easy moving; use concentric pipe for the
stand and pivioting part; and use bicycle brake cable to
translate the verticle motion of the foot pedal to turn on
the gas saver and swing the torch holder around (about 90
deg).
