The cattle sheep wars were more territorial (human) than anything else.
Sheep grazing to the roots was propaganda and only happens if they're
starving; same for cattle, horses, buffalo, goats, etc. I'd eat my own shoes
(hopefully leather <grin>) if I were hungry enough. Anyway, the real problem
is cattle and sheep are both grazers and compete for the same food/range.

I thought that the cattle/sheep wars were due to the fact (as I remember)
that sheep tend to eat grass down to the roots and kill it (if left to their
own devices), whereas cattle don't??
