If you build the base for your dies so that they line up properly (and all
hammer dies should line up anyway) any dies you build would be just as
accurate as the initial fit up of the base. The dies already have a wide
range of adjustment left to right when driving the keys and by shimming one
side or the other and adjusting the die keys accordingly you should be able
to get the front and back to line up as well. No, I haven't built a set
like this yet myself. But I have been thinking abut a similar set up since
before seeing the article.
