You must have been paying attention to the movie last night....:-)
I can see it now .... "First Energy's grid fails again causing a rolling
blackout that engulfs....under investigation....seemed to be caused by a 5k
Onan incorrectly.... local blacksmith held without bail..."

Or if you are unfortunate enough to have your generator on the line when the
mains come back on it can literally blow your generator to kingdom come or
the nearby pole transformer or both. It is way too much excitement when you
cross phase the generator and the main line.
Always always always have a transfer switch between your generator and the
line
